We're pleased to offer the following services at Southside Animal Hospital
We work on a Walk In basis. We can assure you your pet will be seen on a timely matter. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted every time our clinic is open.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as heat stroke, hit by car, and bite wounds. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have always seen Dogs and Cats, but we are now beginning to see companion exotics, including Birds and non-venomous Reptiles. Feel free to contact us regarding whether or not we can see your pet. Besides our Phoenix community pets, Southside Animal Hospital takes pride in providing medical and surgical care for the K-9 Officers from the Arizona Department of Corrections and several Arizona Police Departments.
Southside Animal Hospital offers discounted services to local area rescue groups. Pre-approval is required to qualify for the rescue group discounts, please call us for more information.
Proper diet is only part of keeping our pets on a healthy track. Yearly physicals, vaccinations, control of parasites, and regular dentals are key to providing our pets with the best quality of life. Prevention and early detection are the best medicine to practice. Information gathered at each exam provides us with a detailed medical history, should a medical emergency arise.
It can always be fun to travel with pets, but this can present an issue. Whether traveling by plane or automobile, we can provide you with what you need to cross state borders. We will make every effort to get you the most accurate information for travel, but we do always recommend you do your own investigating to make sure there is no confusion during your travels.
Timely and routine vaccinations are a staple that ensures our pets health and well being. At every stage of life we can provide you with the vaccines you need. Whether you are boarding your pets or just need to update them for the county. Feel free to contact us for questions regarding what vaccines you need.
All teeth cleanings are and should always be done under anesthesia. A basic teeth cleaning includes a full examination of the mouth, including checking the gums and probing the roots of each tooth. An injection of antibiotics will be administered, after which the teeth will be cleaned and polished.
A basic dental cleaning cost $291.
Additional cost will added if extractions are necessary and/or additional antibiotics or pain medication is needed.
Spay and Neuter
Spaying and neutering is a safe and effective way to not only help reduce pet overpopulation and prevent unwanted litters, but it can provide significant benefits for your pets by avoiding both medical and behavioral problems as they age.
Soft Tissue and Orthopedic Surgeries
Soft tissue surgeries including removing masses as well as closing lacerations can be done at Southside as well. Fixing broken limbs or reducing dislocated joints are just examples of orthopedic surgeries we do as well. Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
Diagnostic In House and Reference Laboratory Services
Since our pets cannot tell us in words when something is wrong, we rely on laboratory test to help diagnose what is ailing them. Our onsite laboratory equipment provides us with the ability to run preanesthetic blood work, health screens, and diagnostic panels to help figure out what is going on with our pets.
We also work extensively with outside laboratories when more comprehensive or specialized veterinary testing is required.
Radiographs are a frequently used diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. We utilize a state of the art digital radiology machine and computerized viewing stations. This allows for less need for retakes which minimizes radiation exposure to both our patients and staff. We can also provide digital copies, as well as direct emailing to specialist, if needed.
Did you know Southside Animal Hospital offers boarding? Our boarding facility offers accommodations for pets of all sizes. Our kennels are indoor in a air conditioned environment. We have cages for our small patients, both for kitties and small dogs. Feel free to contact us for rates.
